Well folks, this roller coaster ride is coming to an end. Metaphorically speaking, that is. I'm heading to Disneyland with my family today, so the roller coaster rides are actually just about to begin. But today is the last day "Falling Angel" will be offered as a free download on Amazon.com. When I checked this morning, it was ranked #42 among the free downloads (right below Charles Dickens' "Tale of Two Cities," and one up from "Intentions of the Earl (Book one of the Scandalous Sisters)," by Rose Gordon. Talk about a mash-up!
I'm very curious to see whether all this free downloading will translate into any actual sales, starting tomorrow. I feel that, with close to 7,000 downloads to date, my audience is pretty much tapped out. However, I imagine that people who downloaded it, read it, and enjoyed it may be more likely to pay for my next romance book. I've decided to take my second romance novel out, dust it off (virtually speaking, that is), and see whether it's worth polishing up and publishing as my second e-book.
The story, as I recall, has a similar theme to "Falling Angel" of a woman having to make a choice between two very different men, one a wealthy businessman, the other her childhood friend, recently returned from fighting in Iraq.
In other news, my friend, the immensely talented and funny Marianne Stillings, now has all six of her romantic suspense novels available in e-book form. If you'd like to read her work, go along to the Amazon store and check her out. You are in for a treat!
